British No. 7 Mk I Bayonet & Scabbard, (M/47A)

British No 7 Mk I / L Bayonet & Scabbard. Manufatured by M/47A, (BSA) marked on the ricasso. Only 176,000 of these bayonets were produced, of which only 25,000 were produced by BSA! Early brass throated metal scabbard.  Swivel pommel is marked, "48 Broadarrow", 1948. Contracts began early 1945 as a replacement for the No 4 spike bayonet to be used on the No 4 Rifle. This was a very short production run as these were again replaced by the No 9 bayonet.
