Australian P1907 Bayonet & Scabbard, (LITHGOW 1917)

Australian Pattern 1907 Bayonet & Scabbard. Manufactured at LITHGOW & dated 1917, black blade with factory edge & no false edge added. Pommel is without the clearance hole, with working catch & is numbered, 81846. Nice grips, one of which is marked, 'AUSTRALIA". Scabbard is a "MANGROVITE '43" with O.A. metal fittings. Very few bayonets were produced in Australia during WWI. Production figures as of 30th June 1919 were only 42,330 !  Most were purchased along with the SMLE Rifles from the British.
